Dylan Andrew Schopp, born on December 28, 1993 was a loving brother, son and friend. He was charming, loving, energetic, adventurous and outgoing, but most importantly, Dylan was the life of the party. A smile so big and bright it could light up the night sky; a laughter so contagious it could be heard for miles.
Dylan enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved everything from jet skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, skydiving with friends, to driving fast cars with his dad. As long as his friends and family were around, Dylan was smiling from ear to ear.
Spending time with family during the holidays was one of Dylan’s favorite things to do. From sleeping wherever there was space to big dinners, snowball fights, and roasting marshmallows with his cousin Carly, he loved it all.
This was the Dylan we all knew and loved. A happy, young, cheerful man with his whole life ahead of him. Dylan was pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies at Florida Atlantic University, where he hoped to one day graduate and leave his everlasting impression on the world.
Unfortunately, Dylan’s young life was cut short. On February 12, 2015, at just 21 years young, the world lost a bright ray of Sunshine to suicide.
To celebrate his life and help his spirit and energy live on, The Dylan Schopp Sunshine Foundation was created. The Foundation strives to better the lives of others in hopes of preventing similar tragedies by spreading public discussion of suicide awareness and prevention, breaking the stigma around mental health, and funding both local and nationwide programs that provide support and services to those in need.
